Will the Springer work for my Husky, or Shepherd, or Miniature Schnauzer?

The Springer adjusts to fit the size of your dog and your bicycling ability. There are three settings:
1) All children, adults who weigh less than 110 lbs., and small dogs weighing less than 45 lbs.
2) Adults weighing more than 110 lbs. and with dogs weighing more than 45 lbs.
3) Strong, skilled, adult cyclists with large, strong, eager-to-pull dogs.

Will the Springer fit my bike?

The Springer fits regular bikes, touring bikes and mountain bikes with the normal triangular shaped frames.

What type of harness comes with the Springer?

The Springer comes complete with an unpadded, basic nylon harness designed to fit all body sizes. In the long run, you’ll be happier with your Springer if you purchase the Escape Artist Walking Harness for maximum comfort and control. You can choose from 10 different sizes of this fully padded harness with adjustable side straps.

Can I hook up the Springer to my dog’s collar?

No. You don’t want your dog pulling with its neck. Use a harness that puts the pressure at the dog’s chest.

Can I run two dogs with the Springer?

Yes. Purchase Item 977 for an extra arm and spring that allows you to run two dogs at one time.

My wife and I take our dog on walks separately. Do I need to buy two Springer?

You can move the Springer from one bike to another by purchasing an extra clamp (Item 978).
